Governance and development of all football within 20 miles of sheffield catherdral
There are approximately 120,000 individuals each week involved in some capacity with grassroots football in the area. The Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA is the organisation which administers, managers, develops and promotes the game at this level.
There are two areas of work with which the County FA are involved. Goverance of the game including membership services, club and league affiliations, discipline, cup competitions, player registrations and referees. Development of the game which includes a comprehensive training programme for coaches and other volunteers, kite-marks for clubs, schools programme in addition to social inclusion, equity, health and education programmes.
Football is currently a very powerful medium and sport is high on the agenda as a tool to start addressing issues relating to health, education, crime reduction and social inclusion. The County FA with its many partners is taking a lead by using the power of football to build a better future for both individuals and the community as a whole.
